The visual below shows average 2019 SAT scores for graduating seniors by school. Atlanta Classical’s average score of 1250 was the highest in the district. Grady and Drew also scored above the national average¹. Use the exam filter on the right to switch to the ACT or a different subject.

Note that the percentage tested for several schools was 100%². APS participated in SAT school day for the first time in 2019, which allows students to test during the school day with no fees. Changing the filter to ACT shows that Drew and KIPP Collegiate instead have a focus on the ACT.

The next graph shows SAT math trends for Grady High School over time, compared to district and national averages. The graph shows that Grady’s math score dropped by ten points from 2018 to 2019 while participation rates rose from 76% to 100%. Large increases in participation are often accompanied by score drops. The graph also shows that Grady has performed above the national average the past two years, after performing consistently below from 2013 to 2015. Use the filters to select a different school, exam, or subject.

The SAT exam format changed in 2017. Scores are not directly comparable from 2016 to 2017, but the graph above displays math scores on the same graph because comparisons against the district and nation over time remain relevant.
